After a 15-minute walk from our lodge and through a virgin terra firme forest we arrive to this famous lake of pristine waters where we will aboard a catamaran. You can cross to the opposite side of the shore where the horned screamer Camungo dwells. Also, numerous Herons, Hoatzins and Kingfishers and usually a family of river otters could be seen.
The Harpy Eagles can be spotted trying to seize their preys like the white-fronted Capuchin monkeys. Other predators like the black-collared Hawk, the Ornate-hawk and the Osprey are their regular visitors. The Kapok Canopy Tower and the Mammal Clay Lick are just minutes away from this oxbow lake. |
