  Peru Nature Excursions

SEASON

Our three programs are offered on a year round basis. Being the best season from May to October included.

WEATHER

Yearly average temperature is 82 F (28 C) during daytime and 72 F (22 C) at night. Between May and October it is possible that cold fronts (friajes) from the South Atlantic occur with temperatures dropping to 39 F (15 C) at daytime and 55F (13C) at nights.

ENERGY AND COMMUNICATION

In reference to lighting we use solar power lamps on all the common areas. We have a 100v and 220v generator that is regularly in operation for two or three hours a night and might be used for recharging camcorders batteries. Communication is through a short wave radio, which is in contact with our Cusco and Lima offices at least once a day.

RUBBER BOOTS

We have a regular stock of rubber boots in our lodge which are rented at $20 per day. Please take into consideration that we don’t have sizes larger than N 10 because they are hard to fin locally. We will gladly buy from passengers those boots at $10 each pair.

VACCINES

Vaccination against yellow fever is recommended for all rainforest regions around the world. This vaccination lasts for 10 years and must be applied 10 days prior to trip. Fortunately the Manu area is free of Yellow Fever and Malaria because of its very low population.  The lodge count with first aid kit unit.

CHILDREN

We welcome children who are at least 10 years of age. We don’t recommend the trip for younger kids. Unfortunately there are no price cuts for kids.
